Black work Chemise

8 January- I started the black work on this project yesterday. I already made two mistakes but I am going to continue just the same. This is my first embroidery project and they are only sleeve cuffs which shouldn't be under close inspection. I am basing the chemise off of one in Janet Arnold's Patterns of Fashion 4 The cut and construction of linen shirts, smocks, neckwear, headwear and accessories for men and women, Pages 21, 68 & 69.

22 January- Both sleeve cuffs are finished! In all I only made 3 mistakes. Red was the chevrons are facing the wrong way. Green has the tendrils going wonky and Blue is where the two ran into each other because I was a bit off in my counting. I started the neck band today also but it will take a bit longer to get enough of it done so the pattern can be seen.
